Sign Ups for Membership and Trips
Sign-ups are Monday and Wednesday, from 12:30 to 1:30 in the Guild of Students.
A trip email or Facebook announcement will confirm our location within the guild. If you’re not sure, ask at Guild reception desk.
Sign up procedure
Trip sign-ups start a few weeks before a trip is due to start and continue until the last Wednesday session before the trip.
To sign-up you need to be a member of the Wayfarer society; to do this turn up to sign- ups and fill in a Guild Membership Form and pay £5. You will then be provided a membership card that will entitle you to 20% off at Cotswolds Outdoors.
To sign-up to a trip you must fill in your details on the trip sheet that will be at sign-ups and pay the trip fees:
£10 for a minibus driven day walk
N.B. Some day walks are just the cost
of a train fare to the location
£40 for a weekend walk N.B. Includes 2 nights accommodation, breakfast on both days and dinner for Saturday evening.
We accept cash and cheques made payable to “University of Birmingham Guild of Students”. You must bring the money to the sign up session to sign up. If you do not pay we will not sign you up. There are cashpoints in the Guild.
We generally will not provide refunds. We can only offer you a refund if we find someone else to take your place on the trip. This means you have to have given us enough warning in order for us to advertise the place to other people. We are very sorry that we cannot provide refunds for illness either; but you understand that our trip fees are low because we aim to fill all trips.
